We understand how important your home-away-from-home is to you, and we’ve been working hard since our last catch-up to make sure that the Resort is in tip-top shape for your absolute enjoyment!

Ceiling Fans
Thirty-three old ceiling fans were replaced with new white fans for a modern look.

JoJo Tanks
The reserve JoJo tanks underwent sanitization and replenishment, ensuring the water is suitable for human consumption.

Built-in Braai Stand
Nineteen Build-in Braai's recieved new grids that were made from the old stainless-steel rails of the the curtains.

Kids Play Area
- The boat from the center island has been repaired, repainted, and, moved to the kids play area.
- A black board was added to the side of the jungle gym for kids to draw on.

Communal Braai Area
The communal braai area was upgraded to allow for the introduction of Meet and Greet evenings

Unit Walls
The walls in 37 units were repainted with a new layer of paint

Exterior Fans
Six old and rusted extractor fans were replaced with new ones.

Lounge Ceiling
The lounge ceiling of unit 44 was replaced due to a geyser burst.

Wooden Fence
A wooden fence was erected by the workshop and laundry area.

Hand Sanitizers
Hand sanitizer holders have been moved to the unit kitchens for the dishwashing soap

At Uvongo, we take great pleasure in savouring the delightful moments of celebration, be it during special occasions or holidays. Here are some moments that were worthy-of-celebration:

Father's Day

Nuts and bolts were definitely the order of the day on Father’s Day, as cut-outs of dad’s tools were used as décor around the Reception and the little Resort shop. The Reception Team welcomed our dads with big smiles and were sure to remind them just how NUTS they were about them by gifting each dad with an Uvongo branded ‘BEST DAD’ flask upon arrival.

Women's Day

To express gratitude and to celebrate all the incredible women who joined us on Women's Day, the Uvongo Team took their time to make a little something from their hearts. Each guest received a hand-made phone stand and found a lovely origami display made using towels in their units.

Spring Day

Springtime is like nature hitting the refresh button! To celebrate Spring Day, our Reception Team decided to give our Reception a little vibrant and colourful makeover with bright coloured hand-made flowers and other fun decorations.

Heritage Day

South Africa's heritage is a vibrant fusion of cultures, adding exceptional uniqueness to our nation. This year, in the spirit of uniqueness, guests were greeted with a specially branded Uvongo spice rack upon check-in. The Team also curated a display of items available for purchase. And of course, Heritage Day wouldn't be complete without a traditional braai—there's nothing quite like enjoying an old school boerewors roll to mark the occasion.

Kids Entertainment

The Entertainment Team worked hard to ensure that that our little Uvongo friends created unforgettable experiences at our Resort. We had an exciting treasure hunt that all the kids enjoyed. We then held the iconic Fun Sport Day, where the kids participated in all kinds of activities like tug-of-war, sack races and many others. The day concluded with our guests and Uvongo Team being awarded with medals.

Meet & Greets

Uvongo River Resort, Kridzil Woonstelle, Caribbean Share Block, joined hands and presented a Meet and Greet for guests of all three Resorts. Pap, Sheba, and salads were prepared by the Staff and guests brought their own Chop and Dop.

The Maintenance HOD from Uvongo River Resort entertained the guests by playing a keyboard and singing some all-time favourite songs. The guests were thoroughly entertained! Guests also had the opportunity to braai marshmallows over the fire in the evening.

Join our Meet & Greet during school holidays - Wednesdays at 18:00

We love welcoming guests from all around the country, and this time around Uvongo River Resort had the honour of accommodating 66 senior guests from an old age home in Soweto. During their visit to the South Coast, we helped the group leader organise the groups’ sight-seeing activities, sang for them and most importantly, made sure their visit to the South Coast was one they’d never forget!

iEXCHANGE

We are thrilled to share the news that Uvongo River Resort has earned the INFLUENCER award in the prestigious iExchange Hospitality Awards 2022 /2023.
The Influencer is awarded to resorts that are leaders of innovation in providing that wow factor in the overall holiday experience. They are known for going above and beyond in order to achieve excellence.

Please note that the RHS Head office will be closed from Friday, 22 December 2023, and will reopen for business on Thursday, 04 January 2024.
