RESORT NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2023

It’s been another amazing year of breath-taking sunrises and sunsets across this superb African bushveld we call home. We’ve laughed. We’ve cried. But most importantly, we’ve shared and created everlasting memories at Monateng Safari Lodge. We are immensely grateful for all the support you’ve shown us,

dear valued Shareholder. And as we make our way into the Festive season, with its delightful warmth and joyful spirit, now is the time for you to create cherished memories with your loved ones. But before you fully embrace the holiday spirit, let's bring you up to speed on everything Monateng.

Wildlife Visitors

- Game Drives: Animal sightings of zebras, giraffes,

and hippos during game drives remain a hit.

- Crocodile tours: Tours continue to be considered a highlight as visitors get up close and personal with the crocodilians.

- Walking Trail: Taking a stroll through the Monateng bushveld is a great way to spot some impalas and smaller critters.

Early Bird Sighting

Early bird visitors can head to the deck at the Le Fera Kiosk to observe Rock Hyraxes basking in the morning sun. These small, furry mammals are often active during the early mornings, particularly when they seek out sunlit areas to warm up and start their day. Watching them in their natural habitat can be a fascinating and serene experience.

At Monateng Safari Lodge, holidays and special occasions have a special place in our hearts. Let's take a glimpse into how we marked these moments with you, valued Shareholders, and Resort guests.

Father's Day

Another fantastic and laughter-packed Father's Day took place at Monateng! The Reception and Entertainment Team joined forces and created a fancy tuxedo-themed gift box, complete with a Happy Father's Day chocolate for every guest. The Reception and Games Room were decked out in style for this special day. The little ones got creative, colouring in and personalising their Father's Day cards, while the adults went head-to-head in a Father's Day competition.

Women’s Day

To honour the special women that joined us at the Resort, each unit received lovely Monateng branded cups filled with delightful marshmallow treats upon check-in. The Reception was transformed into a Women's Day wonderland, setting a warm and inviting ambience for our amazing guests.

Heritage Day

Heritage Day is a reminder to honour our diverse heritages and embrace the identities that make up our beautiful rainbow nation. At Monateng, the Reception got a heritage-themed makeover. The Entertainment Team turned into the ultimate fun commanders, keeping the kids entertained, helping them make cultural Maasai necklaces, painting their faces and encouraging them to paint their own South African flags.

School Holidays

School holidays were an absolute blast of excitement! We hosted a limbo showdown with all our lively guests. Our holiday programme was a wild adventure, jam-packed with thrilling activities including hikes along the hiking trail. To sprinkle some extra excitement, we took creativity to the next level with fantastic arts and crafts sessions and a pizza building challenge. We wrapped up the excitement with a Marshmallow Braai in the Boma Area that left the little ones wanting more.

56th Anniversary – Celebrating Love

We had the honour of being a part of a truly special anniversary celebration at Monateng, commemorating an amazing 56 years of love! To make the occasion even more memorable, we added some lovely touches to the couple's unit, including Lindt chocolates, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and a specially crafted anniversary card.

Our Monateng family is made up of skilled individuals who are all passionate about providing exceptional service and an authentic bushveld experience to our guests. Our family is growing! Help us welcome our

Our Reception Team received a nomination from RCI for Top Check-In and Check-out Award of the year 2022 – Small / Medium Category.

In Closing...

As the sun begins setting on 2023, we have enjoyed reminiscing over the memories of the year that was. We’ve witnessed the wildlife roam and flourish, experienced change and appreciated the tranquillity that Monateng offers. As we close this chapter, we eagerly look forward to welcoming both familiar and fresh

faces to the Resort in the new year. There are more exciting adventures on the horizon, countless memories to be made, and an abundance of stories to be shared around the boma fire. Until then, we extend our wishes for a delightful Festive Season and a prosperous New Year to you and yours.
