Over the past six months, the sun-kissed plains of Monateng have played host to countless awe-inspiring experiences and encounters. The Resort has truly been a "Place of Joy," where visitors and staff alike created a tapestry of beautiful memories while the surrounding beauty inspired them to connect with the beauty within themselves. It is almost hard to believe that we are already halfway through 2023 – time sure flies when you're having fun.

As we look ahead, we can only hope that the remaining months of this year bring the same sense of wonder and tranquillity that Monateng is known for. But before we go on to make more memories together, allow us to fill you in on all that has been going on at your home-away-from-home.

We are always making small changes to improve the Resort and ensure that your home-away-from-home is always better than when you left it. Here are all the latest updates and upgrades:

The driveways to unit ZE01 and GI04 were connected to the main roads, we have started to fill the gaps so that there is a complete driveway from the main road to the units.

The air-conditioners in the unit ZE02, KU01, KU04 and ZE04 lounges have been replaced.

We have purchased an invertor for Reception to use during loadshedding.

We have purchased an emergency light for each of the units. The emergency light is given to guests at check-in.

Projects coming in the near-future:

Select Chalets will receive new carpeting.

Select Chalets will receive new kitchen cupboards.

The tennis court will be repainted.

A new tumble dryer will be installed in the main laundry room.

Life is too short not to celebrate special moments – regardless of how big or small they may be. The Resort Team continued to ensure that each moment held a surprise during these good times:

Festive Season

We celebrated this most wonderful time of the year with some fun activities that suited all of our guests’ Festive fancies. They all joined us for a fun game of "Pin the Reindeer". The kids got creative and crafted their very own Christmas ornaments, which they could proudly hang on their Christmas trees and their artistic talents shone through as they created adorable snowmen too. Joe also sprinkled some holiday magic as he transformed into Father Christmas and handed out presents provided by the parents to each child.

Valentine’s Day

The Resort was decorated with lovely Valentine's Day colours and our guests enjoyed some delicious cupcakes baked by our Team as they were checking in. They each received some cute vials filled with heart-shaped candy and tied with thoughtful notes. The Monateng Team then spiced things up by organising a lively V-Day Pop Quiz where guests popped balloons and won fantastic prizes. We ended the day off with a bring-and-braai; the perfect conclusion to a thrilling and memorable day.

School Holidays

Nobody does school holidays better than the Monateng Safari Lodge Team! We offered an exciting range of water activities for guests of all ages to enjoy, including water slides, splash fests, and much more. We also hosted an unforgettable Safari Adventure that included a diverse range of thrilling activities, ensuring there was something for everyone to enjoy. Our knowledgeable Guest Relations team led guided walking trails, giving guests a chance to experience and learn about the beautiful natural surroundings. We also offered a variety of arts and crafts activities, including jewellery making and our guests made some of the most beautiful pieces. From start to finish, the school holidays were a whirlwind of excitement, adventure, and fun foreveryone.

Easter Weekend

The Easter weekend was a hopping good time at our Resort! The Reception and Games Room were decorated with colourful Easter decorations. Adding to the fun, our Reception and Guest Relations staff dressed up as Easter bunnies, complete with face paint and bunny ears, and welcomed guests with cheerful music and refreshing juice during check-in and gifting them charming little bunny gift bags filled with yummy Easter eggs. We also had an Easter egg hunt that everyone loved! Each person was given a basket to hunt for the hidden eggs all around the Resort. Joy, laughter, and egg-citement filled the Resort throughout the entire weekend!

Mother’s Day

Mother's Day is one that's very close to our hearts and this year we welcomed all the mothers visiting us with a little cactus plant that we decorated with a Monateng welcome card and the kids got to make some special Mother’s Day cards which they got to give to the mommies. We also organised a Mother’s Day run, inviting all the mothers and their children to participate in a fun-filled activity together.
