As the curtains draw to a close on another whirlwind year, it's time for us to gather 'round, and indulge in the highlights of our journey for the year 2023. Our Sudwala Team ensured that each of our valued Shareholders and guests had an extraordinary ‘Sudwala Adventure’ that would withstand the tests of time, and for that we are oh-so grateful!
 

We’ve witnessed families, and friends alike, grow closer with delight on their faces shining brightly while they spend precious quality time together. Like Resort superheroes, we’ve been working our magic to make sure that everything is in tip-top shape for your enjoyment! Join us in reflecting on all the amazing things we’ve been up to in the past six months.

Our Team is always striving to enhance your Sudwala experience. Here’s what we’ve been up to in recent months:
 
Interior Upgrades

Green House
The greenhouse has been revived.

Wooden Fence
A wooden fence has been built by the Resort units.

The bridge railing poles were replaced and treated.

The walls at the entrance have been repainted.

- The Tractor received a full service and was repainted.

Games Room
- The music system from the games room was moved to the main pool area.
- The sidewalk play horses were repainted.

Housekeeping Equipment
A new vacuum cleaner and carpet washer were purchased.

Borehole
- The borehole pump was extracted and resealed.
- 300 meters of the borehole pipes have been replaced.

Hot Tubs
All hot tub leaks were repaired and the broken nozzles were replaced.

Outdoor Play Area
- Jungle gym tyres were replaced.
- The mini-golf course edges were repainted and the garden area was redone.
- The wall at the tennis court was converted into an advertising board for entertainment and the
Restaurant\Take-Away.

Buildng Maintenance
- The damaged Reception chairs have been replaced with new ones.
- The wall between A block and the Resort shop has been repainted.
- Most of the leaks from the Reception roof have been fixed (ongoing project).
- For safety reasons, access to the Cultural Village area has been restricted to guests.
- To prevent blockages and any overflow of sewerage water on the lawn, the drain in front of A Block is now being flushed daily.

Fuel Station
- The petrol station received some TLC.

Make sure to stop by the station to refuel your vehicle before returning home.

Restaurant & Shop
- The kitchen underwent upgrades and maintenance to comply with health and safety regulations
- A blackboard with Restaurant specials were placed at swimming pool area.
- The old air conditioner has been removed.
- The outdoor table cloths were replaced for a more welcoming atmosphere.

We are thrilled to share the news that Sudwala Lodge has earned the INFLUENCER award in the prestigious iExchange Hospitality Awards 2022 /2023.
The Influencer is awarded to resorts that are leaders of innovation in providing that wow factor in the overall holiday experience. They are known for going above and beyond in order to achieve excellence.

SPRING DAY

 

Spring finally made its debut, and in true Sudwala fashion, the Team was dressed for the occasion in Hula skirts and flower leis. The Reception was adorned with decorative bunting flags, flowers and beach toys, for a lively and colourful Spring Explosion.

HERITAGE DAY

 

This year we celebrated another South African Heritage Day proudly! At check-in we welcomed our lovely Sudwala guests with some "run-aways" (aka chicken feet) and mini bunny chows. During the welcome braai, our Sudwala Team brought the house down with their traditional dance moves and songs. Some of our guests couldn't resist and jumped in on the action, too!

SPRINGBOK WORLD CUP EVENTS

 

We got ready to witness the clash of titans, the roar of the crowds, and the sheer excitement of the Rugby World Cup. Guests got into the Springbok Rugby fever with a big screen showing of the World Cup games and great restaurant specials on match days. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a vibrant Springbok-themed Reception, decked out in lively shades of green and gold. Our “Christmas reindeer” were converted to Springboks and homemade “bokdrolle” were served to the guests.

FATHER'S DAY

 

Sudwala pulled out all the stops to craft an absolutely sensational Father's Day celebration! We transformed the scene into a beer and cigar paradise, featuring a "Happy Father's Day" sign displayed on a unique board. Our incredible dads were presented with their gifts cleverly concealed inside a dapper shirt and tie paper bag. As if that wasn't enough, we tantalized their taste buds with scrumptious cupcakes adorned with affirmations like "I love you dad" and "Super dad - You are the best dad)

We see training our staff as an investment in the overall success and reputation of Sudwala Lodge. It creates a positive and professional environment that we see as an opportunity to enhance your Sudwala experience as Shareholders and guests. And with that, we’ve had a few training sessions in the past months to ensure our Sudwala Team always performs at their best.

We visited this Resort out of season, and it was therefore fairly quiet. The Resort is situated in a lovely peaceful setting, yet there are a number of activities to partake in should you wish so. The Resort is very well-maintained and the staff are very friendly.

That was definitely a new experience for us. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely return in the future.

Great location close to Kruger National Game Park. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Lots of activities on-site and tourist locations nearby. There is food, a small supply store, a game room and mini-golf. Wi-Fi only available at the Lodge, but it was nice for family to go offline for short periods
