It's hard to believe that we're already halfway through the year. Time truly does fly when you're having fun, and here at Sandy Place, we’ve been looking forward to reeling you in on all the unforgettable experiences we’ve been creating for you, our valued Shareholders. From lazy pool days to strolls along the south coast beaches, each day in St. Lucia has been a new opportunity for discovery. Join us as we look back on the highlights of the past 6-months and look forward to the adventures that lie ahead.

African Fish Eagle

The African Fish Eagle is a regal ruler of African waters. With its striking appearance and iconic call, it dominates the skies, swooping down to snatch fish with unmatched precision. A symbol of freedom and strength, it captivates all who witness its majestic flight.

Saddle-Billed Stork

The Saddle-Billed Stork, is renowned for its towering stature, sleek black and white feathers, and striking yellow and red bill. Well-known for its expert fishing skills, this majestic bird forms monogamous bonds and builds large stick nests high in trees. With its elegant presence and cultural significance, the saddle-billed stork is a symbol of vitality in African landscapes.

Grey Heron

The Grey Heron, with its sleek grey plumage and sharp bill, is a familiar sight in wetlands worldwide. Known for its patient hunting style, it waits motionless to catch fish and small prey with precision. Its adaptable nature and widespread presence make it a symbol of serenity in wetland habitats.

A Block Patios

The braai/patio area for units A1 to A6 underwent renovations.

D Block Wall

The interior wall facing the swimming pool received waterproofing and was repainted.

Tile Floor

Tenting floor tiles in unit C17 were replaced.

Curbs

The curbs surrounding the plants and trees were restored and painted.

Swimming Pool Umbrellas

New pool umbrella covers were crafted to replace the damaged ones.

Pressure Washing

A moss build-up observed on the paving and certain exterior walls throughout the Resort was maintained using a pressure washing technique.

Grounds

Some flower beds were planted with new plants for a new fresh look.

Security Gutter

A small gutter was installed over the door of the security office to prevent water from cascading over the entrance.

Dartboard

The old dartboard was replaced with a new one.

Ongoing Unit Maintenance

Ongoing maintenance are done to ensure a pleasant holiday experience for all our guests.

Here at Sandy Place, we never miss the opportunity to celebrate any holiday, event or special occasion! Here’s a sneak peek into all the good times we’ve experienced so far:

2023 Festive Season

Sandy Place was filled with excitement throughout the festive season. Our guests, including returning visitors, owners, and many new faces, enjoyed themselves both on and off the Resort. The Christmas spirit was alive, with Reception decorated with twinkling lights to mark the occasion. And upon arrival, each guest was greeted with a personalised Christmas gift and a heartfelt message of holiday cheer from the Resort.

Mother's Day

We were prepared to celebrate all the wonderful mothers on Mother's Day. Upon check-in each unit received some homemade Koeksisters for them to savour. At Reception, we provided guests with refreshing ice-cold water infused with freshly picked mint from our garden to enjoy after their journey on the road.

Valentine's Day

Romance filled the air throughout the month of February, and Sandy Place was no exception. On Valentine's Day, guests were greeted with a delightful surprise: homemade cupcakes awaiting them in their units. Plus, we decorated the Reception area and garden with adorable red hearts, dialling up the romance for all to enjoy!

Father's Day

Father's Day at Sandy Place is always special, and this year was no exception! We spruced up the Reception area to greet our guests with style. At check-in, they were delighted with scrumptious koeksisters and a thoughtful Father's Day card.
We also set out a spread of treats for everyone to enjoy, making sure their stay was extra sweet and special.

St. Lucia Festival
On 6 April 2024, the annual St. Lucia Festival lit up the Town Hall with fun for everyone. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with pamphlets in their welcome packs, informing them of the beloved annual event. The festival was met with enthusiasm, featuring captivating stalls which showcased goods from local residents, along with delicious food, fresh produce, sweets, and an electrifying live performance by singer Jakkie Louw.

Sandy Place, received a Three Diamond Social Recognition Award from iExchange. The award is to celebrate the Resorts’ loyalty to iExchange and our contribution to the hospitality industry.

Sandy Place is thrilled to announce the retention of its RCI Silver Crown Status for yet another year!

GUESTREVU AWARDS
We are excited to announce our entry into the GuestRevu Guest-Rated Excellence in Accommodation and Travel (GREAT) Awards, hoping to be crowned a GuestRevu GREAT for 2024! Our motivation for participating is to showcase how wonderful your home-away-from-home is and to highlight our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our guests.
